September 4th, 2015 – In advance of an impending reauthorization of nutritional regulations implemented in 2010, major food corporations are expected to support continued action to improve standards in their products. Initially resistant to the regulations, these companies have made a relatively smooth transition to adhering to them by tweaking their recipes. The cost of implementing the new regulations on the district’s side has resulted in some stress for certain districts, but there is still $28 million available of an initial $90 appropriation toward assisting districts with making the transition.
